CommonAI member Callosum receives $100M in seed funding
  • Callosum have just raised $100M in seed funding to scale their platform for orchestrating heterogeneous AI compute across models and chips. As a Gold member of CommonAI, Callosum plays a vital role in our Scaling Inference Lab.
  • As AI shifts from massive, monolithic models to modular, specialised workloads, high performance and scalability requires domain-specific hardware - different chips, each with distinct strengths and trade-offs. Callosum is building the orchestration layer for these heterogeneous systems, enabling them to tackle much more complex real-world problems that require different forms of intelligence.
  • Through the Scaling Inference Lab, Callosum are validating their core technology at data centre scale across diverse hardware classes, while lending deep technical expertise to the broader programme.

“AI is nothing without the chips that underpin it - and the eye-watering demand for them is only going to grow. In the race to develop and use AI, success will depend not just on having access to those chips, but on using them as efficiently as possible.”

- Kanishka Narayan, UK Minister for Artificial Intelligence
